Interview: Hoodie Allen Brings The Noise

A while back I was fortunate enough to be invited to a show by one of my favorite artists, Hoodie Allen. If you haven't heard of him yet, then you haven't been playing close attention to the Hypem charts because he has dominated them for a while now, or Billboards Next Big Sound, where he clocked in at #23. If you love pop culture references in your raps, catchy-as-fuck-hooks, and slamming beats slayed over recognizable indie samples, then Hoodie is the boy for you. He's been described as "A purveyor of summertime anthems...for his unique genre-blending style, unafraid to sample from the unconventional norms of hip hop." This kid is the real deal, and I say kid because he's young and not afraid to get in your face. Plus, he's down-to-earth, funny, and I'd like to consider him a good buddy to party with (even though we only partied that one time).
