Why Rebecca Black's "Friday" is actually good for pop music

Let's get one thing straight, no one who shares or posts Rebecca Black's "Friday" thinks it's a good song. This video has reached over 5 million views in just a couple of days, and spawned parodies, remixes, and even a worldwide facebook event for this coming Friday, (We so so excited!). This level of exposure in the world of pop culture is great for any artist, especially young unknowns, but what happens with Rebecca's single is very different that what happens with an artist like Ke$ha.
I know people that love Ke$ha's music (I can't believe I'm using the $), and some of her songs are just one "day of the week lyric" close to the level of dumb that "Friday" achieves. It is an unintentional parody of what young people want in pop music these days. If this would have been a parody video, it wouldn't have been as funny as it is, but because of the serious tone and production of the video, it shows it's trying hard to be just as good as all the other pop videos these days, and in some ways, it is. Again, have you heard any song by Ke$ha?
What I think Rebecca's song will hopefully do is remind people that pop music can be good music (Rihanna), but it can also be horrible in the wrong hands. This might just be the final straw that pop music needs these days. People need to snap out it. Wake up! If you know anyone who likes Ke$ha, please share this video with them and say "THIS IS WHAT YOU LIKE!".
Seriously, here are some of lyrics to Tik Tok and Friday.
Tik Tok: Wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy. Put my glasses on, I'm out the door - I'm gonna hit this city
Friday: 7am, waking up in the morning, Gotta be fresh, gotta go downstairs.
Tik Tok: Tick tock, on the clock, But the party don't stop, no.
Friday: Tickin’ on and on, everybody’s rushin’. Partying, Partying, Yeah!
I hope that when you hear another artist with a better production and look, you'll remember that if you take all that away, you're stuck jamming out to "Friday", and that's never cool, no matter if you're kickin' in front or riding in the back seat.
Btw, I've actually got this song stuck in my head now. FUUUUUUHHHHHHH!
